3D laser scanning can be a good way to capture existing conditions for following;
- refurbishment projects,
- doing topographic surveys of sites which are difficult to access,
- to keep a record of as-built services before permanently concealing them.
- to ensure that site execution is being done in accordance with the model.
‘Point Cloud Modelling’ process can be used for better documentation of as-built and existing conditions in the form of as-built BIM models instead of tracing over record 2D-drawings.
